Whoops--I missed a sale at Barbie Collector!

Sorry, dear readers, I missed a sale going on now at Barbie Collector. Today is the last day--it ends tonight, May 30, 2014, at 11:59 pm CT, so you still have time to take advantage of it. Here are the details:

Save up to $25 on the Red Carpet collection. When you buy
  • two dolls, take $5 off your purchase.
  • three dolls, take $15 off your purchase.
  • four dolls, take $25 off your purchase.
That's like saving up to 30% on these dolls. They cost $19.95 each, and if you're a member of the Barbie Fan Club, you can add your quarterly $25 reward to your purchase as well to save even more!

The dolls that qualify for this special are:
  • Red Carpet Barbie Gold Gown - Goddess sculpt
  • Red Carpet Barbie Blue Jumpsuit - open mouth Mackie sculpt
  • Red Carpet Barbie Pink Gown - Mackie closed mouth sculpt
  • Red Carpet Barbie Green Dress - Aphrodite sculpt
The dolls have great details, including applied eyelashes, and they use the slim Model Muse body. I love the earrings in this collection, and the bracelets are pretty, too.

Mio's Holiday - my latest addition from Azone

Mio's Holiday

Originally, I planned on only one. My intention was to trade a Fashion Royalty doll for a single Azone Pure Neemo, and be done with it. But now they've totally taken over an entire shelf in the doll cabinet!

This is Mio, older sister to Mia and Miu, with the larger body size (I think she uses the M Flection body, but I could be mistaken). She is absolutely adorable! I love her monochromatic outfit.

She includes a bra and panties, skirt with lace trim, corset, cardigan with ruffled edges, blouse with ribbon tie, matching purse, headband with a bow, socks and boots. The only thing I dislike about her were the fact that her boots were so difficult to put on her feet. They don't have closures, so it was hard to slip them on--but I managed it.

I'll add a few more detail photos of her here, for your own examination.

The details, from the latest Wilde Imagination email, which lists the dolls that are on sale:

I tried using the code on the Essential Ellowyne Six Collection, and it didn't work. Wilde Imagination exclusives from Tonner Con - sold out!

Tonner Convention featured several lovely Wilde Imagination exclusive dolls. I was going to try for Vintage Confusion Ellowyne, retail $199, LE125, because I just love her outfit, but she sold out instantly! She's wearing a gorgeous peach dress with yellow tights and matching lace-up boots. She has red curly hair and inset blue eyes with lashes.

I also adore Vintage Confusion Lizette, retail $199, LE125, but she is also sold out already. Lizette wears a lavender lace dress with a white chiffon jacket, lace tights and lavender boots. Her hair is styled in mink curls, and she has inset brown eyes with lashes.

Limited to 150, this ABS plastic version of Evangeline Ghastly The Dark Attic is also already sold out at $215 each. She has inset grey eyes with lashes and wigged brown curls, plus a lovely chiffon and lace dress, and gold and purple pumps.

I haven't personally caught Patience fever yet, but these two exclusives were awfully cute. Patience makes an as Dorothy for $175 in an edition size of 300, and she's still available. In her trademark ruby red slippers, white and blue gingham apron dress, rooted brown braids and brown eyes, she's even got a basket--though Toto must be out exploring!

Patience as Glinda, The Good Witch of the North is limited to 300 and retails for $185. She is also still available for purchase, and includes a removable strawberry wig, inset blue eyes with lashes, glittering pink gown, pink flats, wand and crown.

Tonner convention dolls for sale!

You can pick up several convention dolls from Tonner's website today. I've noticed increased prices (or maybe I just haven't been paying attention), but they seem to have more accessories (jewelry, hats and more detailed outfits) and slightly smaller edition sizes.

As of this post, Cinderella is in stock and available to ship. She's part of the Re-Imagination collection. She uses the Kay face sculpt on the new 16" Chic body in the cameo skin tone, with rooted blonde hair and painted blue eyes. I think she's quite pretty. She is wearing clear pumps under her huge gown. She's limited to 150 with a retail of $215. If she weren't quite so pricey and her dress were just a bit smaller, I'd pick her up for my own collection.

Next, the Victorian Social centerpiece dolls are available. The centerpiece set of three is in stock for $495 (shipping on 5/27). Victorian Social Jon is $185, LE 100, with raven hair, brown eyes and the honey skin tone. Victoriam Social Cami is also $185, LE 200, with a blonde updo and blue eyes. Victorian Holiday (Captain Paul sculpt) is on the Matt O'Neil body with rooted mink hair. He is limited to 100.

Victorian Basic Cami is in stock for $129, and she's limited to 250. She's the Antoinette body with green eyes and rooted chestnut hair. I think she's very sweet, and I'm tempted--I think she'd be fun for redressing. (I love updos!)

American Model Milady is limited to 100 and retails for $350. She is dressed in a renaissance era gown, has green inset eyes, applied lashes, and wigged raven hair. Her gown will also fit Peak's Woods Absolute Beauty BJDs and similarly sized dolls with small waists.

The debut of Tonner's newest collection is Carmen Dell'Orefice. She is limited to 200 for $210. She's on the new Chic body, cameo skin tone with platinum hair and blue eyes. Her outfit is a grey knit dress and matching jacket with faux fur cuffs and collar, jewelry, satin shoes, silver necklace, and rhinestone earrings. I'm excited to see what else follows in this collection.

The convention doll is Lady Arabella Bertran, featuring the Deja Vu sculpt and body in cameo skin tone, strawberry hair, and blue eyes with applied lashes. She's limited to 300 and retails for $215.

Lady Action is another brand new body, the 16" Fit body, in cameo skin tone, with the Tyler 2.0 head sculpt with blue eyes and mink wigged hair. She comes with weapons: a gun with holster and a sword. She's limited to 1000 (a large edition size) and retails for $199. I think she'd be great for redressing--and check out those fabulous boots!

Limited to just 150, this Wonder Woman outfit is sized for the 16" Fit body, and retails for $99. It's based on the original DC Stars look, and include a wig, gauntlets and lasso, too. I'm thinking that this wig (and outfit on Lady Action would pretty much make a perfect Wonder Woman doll!

Correcting my earlier post--Fifteen Years, the 15-year Tyler anniversary doll, uses the original 16" BW body in the cameo skin tone. She has rooted copper brown hair with painted blue eyes, and a lace gown. Tonner's description reads, "red lace dress with glitter and rhinestone decoration at the waist," but I don't see much glitter--maybe just a little in the tulle belt. (I'm not a huge fan of glitter--it gets on everything!) At any rate, she's limited to 250 and retails for $225.

I think these dolls are quite lovely--my favorites are Carmen and Victorian Basic, but I haven't decided that I need to add any to my collection at the moment. I'm interested in hearing more about the new body styles, though!

NY Times Centerpiece - 15th Anniversary Tyler LE300 - Tyler 1.0 on the Chic Body

Some news:

I'm not sure if this is from the convention, but directly from Tonner's Facebook page:

In case you missed it, some incredible news about Tonner Doll and The Wizard of Oz!
The Leading Ladies of The Wizard of Oz are transforming the Yellow Brick Road into a fashion runway! High-end fashion and costume designers have partnered with Warner Bros. and Tonner Doll to create one-of-a-kind creations inspired by Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The dolls will be available for auction on eBay – with ALL proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity! Learn more about the collection here:http://www.thewizardofozblog.com/ #WizardofOz75
The Anniversary Tyler doll was released with a new body called the Chic body. You can see some improvements on Tonner's Facebook page here, and I don't believe you have to have an account on Facebook just to see the photos. (If you have problems viewing the link, leave me a note in the comments section.) I'm really excited about any body change, actually. I'm hoping this means Tyler's knees will be like Antoinette's now--it seems it might be!

There was also an event launching a brand new collection inspired by Carmen Dell'Orfice. There are some amazing photos on Tonner's blog, taken by Ernesto Padro-Campos on there that I just couldn't copy to my blog, so please check them out here. I believe the first doll was available as a centerpiece LE200, and she is gorgeous.

Urban Safari - Latest Fashion Royalty release from Integrity Toys

The theme of this Fashion Royalty collection is Urban Safari. I have to say, I was quite impressed. I love the mix of softer colors and textures, and I like the mix and match pieces of these outfits, starting with Natalia.

Natalia Fatale appears in Elusive Creature in an edition of 800, $135. Her release date is August/September of this year. She uses the Hispanic skin tone with Serengeti blond hair. Her outfit includes a mesh top, vest with pockets, belt, pleated skirt, boots, faux snakeskin purse, hat, hoop earrings, sunglasses, and bracelets.

Also scheduled to ship in August/September is On The Rise Elise Jolie. She makes an appearance as a dramatic raven-haired beauty in the Japan skin tone, in a saffron colored gown with a black belt. Accessories include gold earrings and bracelets, matching clutch and heels. She is LE 700 and $135.

I had been hoping for something different from Eugenia this year, and she certainly is! City Prowl Eugenia Frost is LE 800 and retails for $135. She uses the FR White skin tone with desert dune blonde hair and brown eyes. She wears a sheer leopard print blouse over a faux leather bustier with pocket details, a knee length skirt, strappy shoes, a black clutch, bracelets and black earrings.

Faded Desert Kyori Sato popped up on my radar because of her fabulous outfit. I adore the vest and the various pieces of her skirt, plus her oversized bag really is fantastic. The touches of sky blue in this outfit make her look put together--check out the details on her shoes, for example. She's limited to 700 and retails for $135.

Simply adorable with short hair, Full Spectrum Veronique Perrin is limited to 700 and retails for $135. She wears an elegant red sheath with a cutout back, and the black belt and accessories finish her look perfectly.

For me, the star of the show is Adele Makeda in Vivid Encounter. She's limited to just 400 and retails for $135. She's dressed in a gorgeous peridot gown with a gorgeous draped skirt, matching necklace, bracelet and earrings. Her gold clutch and black heels complete her look.
